Wind and Hail Devastate Abilene, TX

Abilenians are cleaning up the debris after a line of severe thunderstorms, carrying with them golf ball to softball-sized hail, destroyed vehicles, homes and commercial buildings Thursday night.

The violent storms struck just as the Children’s Art & Literacy Festival parade ended downtown. Among the parade-goers was Leading Edge Claims Service’s, Vice President, Troy Hansen’s son and his grandparents. Landen and his grandparents went scrambling for cover as hail pounded people, buildings and vehicles. Thankfully, they made it to cover without injury. 

Due to the severe and widespread damage in Abilene, Leading Edge Claims Service, has initiated our Catastrophe Response Teams and have deployed a team of highly-skilled adjusters to the area to service our clients’ requests. Additionally, Troy Hansen and the Training Development Manager, Blake Mears, are preparing and making all necessary arrangements for our adjusters.

Early observations and news reports have shown this to be a severe event with estimates nearing $300,000,000 in damages to vehicles, homes and commercial property.
